With the Republican Party in freefall, and the now almost certain death of the Tea Party, Boehner, Cantor and the other gang of idiots of dropped most of their anti-Obamacare stance for a new bugaboo: entitlements. House Republicans say they will open the government and avoid the debt ceiling if Obama will agree to provisions he has showed openness to in the past like cutting Medicare and Social Security. Senate Democrats like Harry Reid and Elizabeth Warren have, in the past, said no deal to this crap, and I see little reason for them to cave at this point.
What part of NO DEAL are they no getting? Every poll shows the GOP falling to its lowest approval rating EVER and has earned the wrath of their big money donors who have been watching the markets tank over the past few weeks, all due to the Tea Party. As shown in a previous post, big business has said explicitly that they will seek more business friendly candidates in the next election, ie, not the Tea Party. So just like the socialists got tricked into voting for Hitler, who then turned around and had them all arrested when he took power, so goes the ill-fated Tea Party, now it's final days. They backed all this pro-business, fascist nonsense and it has now come back to bite them in the ass as they are going to be eliminated because of it. If the Supreme Court rules that individuals can get unlimited funds, the Tea Party will be yesterday's news as they will get annihilated in lack of funds versus their business owned counterparts.
How do I know this? Follow the money. If the Tea Party loses it's big money benefactors, and they instead back other candidates, the Tea Party stands to lose big in every election, especially the primaries. Business leader are fed up with crap like abortion and gay rights, which are hurting their bottom dollars rather than helping it, and would rather see them fighting against unions, the minimum wage and other ideas that increase corporate profits. The government shut down is costing them big and they are getting pissed about it. I hate the Tea Party so much, that them losing to the neo-fascists would actually make my day. The Tea Party started as a rebellion against the banks, but then the billionaires of the world tricked them into thinking Obamacare was even worse, which it isn't. Banks are destroying us and now, they seem to have their sights on the Tea Party, a lethal possibility.
Anger against the Congress suggests that 2014 might be a day of reckoning for many, democrat or Republican, but I think the right will suffer far worse loses, even possibly giving the democrats the House back for the first time in eight years. The Tea Party name is linked with smallpox in popularity, somehow doing worse than the Republican brand right now and that is saying something.
The fact that they are still grasping at straws shows how desperate they are. I am hoping President Pivot won't do something stupid like agree to cuts in Social Security and Medicare, a notion that would be very unpopular in both parts of Congress, with many like Bernie Saunders and Liz Warren, vowing to vote no if such a proposal is floated. If that is the case, even if the right and Obama come to an agreement, I see little hope for the Senate to follow suit. This is a dead deal before it ever had a chance.
Open the government, raise the debt ceiling already and go back to doing what you do best GOP: being the obstructionist party that is literally killing this country with your outdated ideas and horrific congresspeople. Good luck in 2014. You're going to need it.
