OVERPOPULATION: WHY IT'S HAPPENING AND THE MYTHS IDIOTS KEEP SAYING ABOUT IT.

Lately, I have been reading people who say that the reason the economy is failing is because Americans are having less children. This is true and one of the main reasons is the lousy economy where people can no longer afford to have children. Others like myself, think there are too many people already and why contribute to the problem. But the naysayers say that as there are less people to support the old, we are reaching a crisis of funds to support Medicare and Social Security. None of that is true.

First off, Medicare and Social Security and whithering because of said awful economy where people are making less and less, this adding less to tax and entitlement coffers. It also doesn't help that we are looking at ways of eliminating said programs rather than fixing them. Lifting the cap on SS will fund that program through the next century and means testing Medicare, along with common sense medical reform, would save that program too. But the Tea Party is too bent on destroying us to fix any of that.

What then religious right fails to understand is that by denying abortion and birth control rights to people, we are setting the stage for our own extinction. Eventually, there are going to be too many people on the planet, leading to resource wars, extreme poverty and, most likely, plagues that will wipe many of us out. If we don't quell the tide of humanity, nature will do it for us. As fertility rates are dropping dramatically worldwide, that may already be happening. It's also why I think we should shut down all fertility clinics as we should not be helping people get pregnant but the opposite.

The argument that we need more people to support the elderly is well intentioned by stupid. The Earth is a finite space and can only hold so many. If we keep population growth to unmanageable levels, we will kill ourselves in the act of doing so. We are already seeing the signs from an overcrowded Earth. Food, water, overcrowding are already happening so for all those people who say the population of the planet could double and we'd be alright is not paying attention to all the signs that say otherwise. Many aquifers will be dry by 2040, including the Ogallala Aquifer that stretches from Texas to South Dakota and provides irrigation for the breadbasket agricultural hub of America.

• The pollution produced by the current population is murdering every ecosystem imaginable. Oceans are dying, coral reefs are dying, rivers are dying and rainforests are dying. If the human population were small compared to the total carrying capacity, we shouldn’t see the natural ecosystems dying all around us.

• Soils are disappearing across the world’s agricultural centers. We are losing topsoil at a record pace around the world, and once those top soils are gone, food production yields plummet. (You can’t feed the world by growing food in sand.)

• Humanity’s voracious appetite for energy has led to the global proliferation of “Earth-killing” technologies such as nuclear power plants. The Fukushima disaster proved that demand for power has caused energy industries to risk the viability of human life across the planet in order to produce more power for humanity’s artificial cities.

• Hydrocarbons continue to drive the world economy, yet there’s very good evidence that oil supplies in the Middle East are drying up (production is falling). While the planet can produce more hydrocarbons over millions of years, it cannot double its oil supply in a few decades. Thus, the demand for oil vastly outstrips the ability of the planet to produce it.

• Look at the outrageous crowding in cities like New York and Los Angeles. The highways exist in a seemingly endless logjam, and there’s hardly a public open space left remaining anywhere in these cities, with New York’s Central Park being the rare exception. Housing shortages and housing building materials shortages (wood, concrete, steel) are all very, very real. This is why building homes has become ridiculously expensive over the last few years. China is buying concrete and steel from the USA and shipping it overseas on large sea freighters.

• The depletion of ocean fisheries is also very real. As the human population over-fishes the oceans in search of food, ocean life is experiencing an unprecedented die-off. Many species have plummeted to “red alert” levels due to over-fishing.

That sounds like a dying planet, not one doing well, doesn't it? With way too many stupid, greedy people giggling their way to the Apocalypse I see little hope for fixing any of this. Civilizations have collapsed in the past, driving people from cities beck to hunter gatherer mode and it will happen again, technology or not, if we continue to behave to such an idiotic fashion.

Water is disappearing at an astronomical rate, brought on by climate change, drought, and overpopulation everywhere. Lake Mead, which supplies cities like Las Vegas is dropping quick. Scientists give the lake a 50% chance of disappearing by 2025, meaning no water for millions. Another source of water, the Ogallala Aquifer, one of the largest water sources in the world is drying up. This water source supplies water to most of the Mid-west and once gone, it's gone. 800 gallons are used per minute, a volume equivalent to draining two thirds of Lake Erie since 1940. Even worse, as population grows, so does the speed of the draining. Where water levels once stood at 240 feet, it now is down to just 80 feet and dropping.

36 states face water shortages, some of which may become permanent at water loss ratios. Nevada, California and Texas may have less than 20 years of water left. Then what? I am guessing lots of dead people. It's not helping that almost half of our rivers and lakes are so polluted that you can't swim in them let alone drink the water.

And that is just this country. Around the world, it's even worse. Water use has quadrupled over the last 100 years. One third of the world will face water shortages by 2025. Water supply in China will overtake usage by 2030. 75% of Indian lakes and rivers are beyond polluted and 80% in China. Every eight seconds a child dies somewhere on Earth for drinking tainted water. As more people are born, food will become just as scarce as there won't be enough water to grow crops. Saudi Arabia has given up growing wheat meaning they will import 100% of that crop by 2016.

All of this spells doom for the human race, while the Catholic Church and the religious right continue to back policies that will kill us all. Feel how you may about abortion, but anything keeping the population down at this point is a far greater necessity than arguing about whether a fetus is a person or not (it isn't). And birth control is an absolute need for a world rapidly spinning out of control.

I am not optimistic about our future as most people are too stupid, greedy or both to see the forest for the trees. We need population controls and stat. The other result is the end of our civilization and the near extinction of mankind. Your choice.

REBUBLICANS DEATH SPIRAL BEGINS AS THEIR BASE BEGIN TO TURN ON THEM.

You know your party is in trouble is when the head of the RNC has a public temper tantrum over CNN and NBC daring to construct two as yet unfilmed movies/documentaries about his number one enemy come 2014: Hillary Clinton. Yeah Because Fox News never does that, except of course all the times they actually did just that. Did you forget the nonstop coverage the channel dedicated to Mitt Romney and his home life before he even became the nominee? It was Mitt half the time and Obama is the devil the rest. Reince Preibus (whose name makes him instinctively want to punch him for being a pretentious twerp) is one of many, many reasons that 2014 is already shaping up to be not quite the rosy predictions even I was making just a few weeks ago for the GOP.

2014 will bring many more vulnerable seats for the Democrats and the GOP should be sitting pretty. The right traditionally does better in mid-term election, like the sweep that brought the Tea Party into power in 2010, and this country to a standstill. The Republicans only need a six seat pickup with 14 seats up for grabs. Some they no have chance at. But others like Georgia, Kentucky and Alaska, which should be red state holdouts, are looking blue suddenly due to changing demographics, terrible candidates and a party that is losing people through death and lack of vision.

No party can exist without a plan for the future. And say what you want about the democrats, they have spelled put of plan to fix things. Now, I know that their plan is doomed to failure, but it is step in the right direction in some ways and hopefully we can fix the flaws before they blow up in our faces. The Tea Party is preventing any of that and again, a reason people are losing hope with the GOP. But the Right's plan, what is it exactly? To me it looks like they want to end all programs for the poor, give it to rich people, and let us fend for ourselves in all matters. Who is voting for that plan? Apparently nobody but recent polls say old people are paying attention and they HATE the GOP's plan to end Medicare and privatize Social Security among other things. And they are making Republicans pay by not voting for them anymore. Look at these facts from James Carville (keeping in mind I have no way of knowing how accurate this poll was):

—In 2010, seniors voted for Republicans by a 21 point margin (38 percent to 59 percent). Among seniors likely to vote in 2014, the Republican candidate leads by just 5 points (41 percent to 46 percent.)

—When Republicans took control of the House of Representatives at the beginning of 2011, 43 percent of seniors gave the Republican Party a favorable rating.  Last month, just 28 percent of seniors rated the GOP favorably. This is not an equal-opportunity rejection of parties or government

— over the same period, the Democratic Party’s favorable rating among seniors has increased 3 points, from 37 percent favorable to 40 percent favorable.

—When the Republican congress took office in early 2011, 45 percent of seniors approved of their job performance. That number has dropped to just 22 percent — with 71 percent disapproving.

—Seniors are now much less likely to identify with the Republican Party. On Election Day in 2010, the Republican Party enjoyed a net 10 point party identification advantage among seniors (29 percent identified as Democrats, 39 percent as Republicans). As of last month, Democrats now had a net 6 point advantage in party identification among seniors (39 percent to 33 percent).

—More than half (55 percent) of seniors say the Republican Party is too extreme, half (52 percent) say it is out of touch, and half (52 percent) say the GOP is dividing the country. Just 10 percent of seniors believe that the Republican Party does not put special interests ahead of ordinary voters.

—On almost every issue we tested — including gay rights, aid to the poor, immigration, and gun control — more than half of seniors believe that the Republican Party is too extreme.

These figures do coincide with other polls I have seen so I they should be well within the margin of error, although the second from last part makes no sense as half is used three times for no explained reason. People who identify themselves as Republican are dropping every year as Democrat and Independent grows in ranks. Independent, the country undefined majority moderates, now make up the largest party in the country, yet we have no candidates. Why? Shouldn't we have one?

Meanwhile, in Crazytown, the GOP couldn't pass their own bill as the Ryan Budget plan came up again and met with unexpected resistance form House members in their own party who refused to say yes to it. In the past, it sailed through, getting near 100% of Republicans voting yes. Now, some are seeing how unpopular that bill really is and are saying "Gee, maybe I should walk away from this if I want my cushy job for another two years." The House keeps voting on bills that will never pass and are ignoring bills that could actually help the country and America appears to be waking up out there. It is your job out the dear readers to spread the word. The GOP is filled with lunatics and if we keep voting the lunatic fringe into office, we are all going to look like Detroit.

Don't believe me? The Far Right is filled with people who recently showed up at an Obama appearance in, of course, Arizona, and started to sing "Bye Bye Blacksheep." I kid you not that actually happened. Others like Deanne Bartram raised a sign saying, "Impeach the Half-White Muslim!" So thanks to the Zimmerman case, we have a whole new level of racism where half-whatever people will now be labeled as such. Wonderful. Why is the right filled with this level of stupidity? Because they are only the ones gullible enough to vote themselves into poverty.

The right is dying on the vine. It has no ideas, no vision and that catches up to you after a while. You have to have a plan for the future, a roadmap of where to take the country. Not gay people are bad, abortion is evil and Obama is the devil. That is not a plan. That is nothing. And pretty soon, that's all the GOP is going to have.

THE GREAT EMBASSY SCARE, REPUBLICANS, "EDUCATIONAL" TV AND OTHERS THINGS MAKING US STUPID BEYOND WORDS.

While some 90% of the Earth seems to be stuck on a never ending cycle of stupid, it is refreshing to see some out there are finally coming around to the truth. Even more surprising, some of it is even appearing in MSM which shows a faint glimmer of the first amendment's triumphant return. Well maybe not that spectacular, but noticeable all the same. However, at exactly the same time as the modest reawakening of logic among a select few, others have headed the opposite direction, barreling towards a level of moronic behavior that not only defies logic, it pisses on it's head.

Let us start with the Great Embassy Scare which can be best be described as the largest over-reaction to a planned non-event in history. 19 embassies were closed worldwide because so called chatter over open lines suggested a major attack was in the works for Sunday August 4th, a "Day Of Power," due to religious and lunar occurrences in the Muslim world. Travel alerts were issued, extra security was put in place globally and, after lots of money we don't have was spent, nothing happened. It was never going to either.

How do I know this? Apparently I am the only person on the planet who has studied military warfare. If I'm a terrorist, and I know the phones are bugged, because let's face it, that story about the NSA was seen by the Amish, Kalahari Bushmen, and people in comas it was so prevalent, I can use that to my advantage. If I know the phones are bugged and I want to see what the enemy will do in case of an attack, I'd pretend to be planning one and see what happens. I'd bet money if we heard the tapes of this chatter we'd be able to hear laughing in the background. Not only that, but because we were so eager to shout "EMERGENCY" at the top of our lungs, a clever man would have spotters stationed world wide to document what steps we took to prepare for this emergency which can then be used to find weaknesses in.

The NYT even looked at this and went WTF? They went further and blamed this whole thing on a spurious attempt to divert attention away from the NSA spying scandal which is again a true scandal that the fucking right wingers are again oblivious to! What part of the word scandal are you not getting? Here is part of the article from the NYT:

Some analysts and Congressional officials suggested Friday that emphasizing a terrorist threat now was a good way to divert attention from the uproar over the N.S.A.’s data-collection programs, and that if it showed the intercepts had uncovered a possible plot, even better.

But wait it gets better. Guess who else they blame?

Security analysts said Friday that in the aftermath of the furor over the Obama administration’s handling of the attack last year on the diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, the State Department is now more likely to publicize threat warnings when deemed credible, both to alert the public and to help deter any imminent attacks.

That's right, Benghazi. So because the GOP spent so much time on a non-scandal, while simultaneously ignoring yet another actual scandal, we have made the world a less safe place. And people question why I call the Republicans traitors? What else would I suggest calling someone who is actively trying to dismantle everything this country stands for while secretly aiding the enemy? If it quacks like a duck you know.

So what we have is an administration trying to divert attention away from the fact that they are actively spying on all Americans while the Republicans latest temper tantrum is costing time, money and security we cannot afford to lose. That is stupidity to a T. And we are letting it happen. What does that say about us?

It is not helping when even our TV documentaries are lying to us. Last Friday the Discovery channel aired a special called "Megaladon: the Monster That Lives." I happened to catch some of it by accident as I flipped channels and was instantly intrigued. I actually know quite a bit about that particular shark, which went extinct millions of years ago. It was a huge prehistoric shark that could leap hundreds of feet out of the air. Scary. So when I heard that they may have found evidence of one, I was instantly skeptical. The location  for the shark was wrong and the evidence was all purely anecdotal. After watching less than ten minutes, I had decided it was a hoax as everything they were saying seemed off.

Later I found out it was done by the same idiots that aired the mermaid special last year. It wasn't until the end of the special apparently where they admitted the previous two hours was a film not a documentary, infuriating fans who felt duped and rightfully so. This kind of stuff belongs on the Syfy channel, not Discovery. Same goes for the The Learning Channel which long ago dumped documentary features for reality TV like "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." There is no learning on the Learning Channel. That's irony.

But it is this kind of stuff that is making people not trust anything anymore, as several people commented on Discovery's website. One fan wrote: "Thank you for making me doubt anything and everything you've ever done." Our government is doing the exact same thing. Can the voices of reason, like myself, rise up and ask for better as well?

ILLEGAL WIRETAPS, DECLINING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND OTHER SIGNS OF IMPENDING TYRANNY

More and more information is coming out that every American should find disturbing. Our personal freedoms are being taken away and no one seems to care. Millions every year are being thrown into poverty due to circumstances beyond their control. All the while, the Senate fiddles while Rome burns. It looks like our end may be rapidly approaching and there is little we can do about it. The Republicans and their supporters are cheering it all on to the surprise of the rest of us, even as some in the GOP are starting to finally wake up and see the forest for the trees. Will it be too little too late?

The most awful thing being reported is something I have long suspected and is something every American should be worried about. Turns out not only is the NSA spying on you but so is the DEA. Reuters recently uncovered documents that show that federal agents would recreate situations to explain how they came up with information. Instead of illegal, secret recording being the source, they would hide behind a mythical CI whose identity they would refuse to identify. Nevermind the fact that everything about this is illegal from wiretapping without a warrant to hiding the identity of a person's accuser, the possibility for abuse from this program is astounding.

I always found it odd that people like Elliot Spitzer and Rod Blogovitch got shoved under the bus just as they both were to start investigations into banking irregularities. Yes both were doing illegal things but none of that came to light until they started poking their nose into Big Banking and got spanked seconds later. What if this information had been gathered during illegal wiretaps and then used for the purposes later of blackmail, extortion, or forcing someone from office? I am not saying what either of these two weren't doing wasn't illegal, but I do find the timing that these issues odd as they both were announcing big investigations into banking fraud when the hammer came down.

But now the DEA is wiretapping us all to see who has illegal drugs which is NONE OF THEIR DAMN BUSINESS IN THE FIRST PLACE. Our prisons have enough people in them, let's not add to the problem and do it in an underhanded, illegal way first. Here's part of the story from Reuters:

A secretive U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration unit is funneling information from intelligence intercepts, wiretaps, informants and a massive database of telephone records to authorities across the nation to help them launch criminal investigations of Americans.

The undated documents show that federal agents are trained to “recreate” the investigative trail to effectively cover up where the information originated, a practice that some experts say violates a defendant’s Constitutional right to a fair trial. If defendants don’t know how an investigation began, they cannot know to ask to review potential sources of exculpatory evidence – information that could reveal entrapment, mistakes or biased witnesses.

“I have never heard of anything like this at all,” said Nancy Gertner,… “It is one thing to create special rules for national security,” Gertner said. “Ordinary crime is entirely different. It sounds like they are phonying up investigations.”

So the US government is complicit in depriving American citizens of the rights as given to us by the Constitution and no one seems to care. You will when that black helicopter whisks you away in the middle of the night because your lawn isn't mowed, you failed to recycle or some other innocuous reason. Talk to anyone who lived in Nazi Germany or Stalin's Russia to get some idea of what awaits us if we don't put an immediate stop to this type of abuse.

They have destroyed the Constitution, leaving only the 2nd partially intact but is in effect toothless as police departments are becoming more and more militarized which will be then used to subjugate an angry public. We should be fighting for less gun laws not more. Whatever the police have, so should the average citizen. That has to be the law to prevent the coming tyranny we face. We can be killed without a trial or, even worse, thrown into a hole, and never let out. All the have to say is the words "enemy combatant," and you are toast. These protections have existed since 1215 when the Magna Carta was signed. Bush and Obama have eliminated this idea of a fair trial and due process. It can and will be used against all of us one day.

And the fact that our wages are falling further and further mean that the chances for riots to break out in a full on economic collapse are increasing daily. Recent studies show that a person making minimum wage in 1968 made more money than the average full time worker today, which now comprises 40% of the public. So 40% make less now than a low wage worker in the 60's made. Terrific. As the minimum wage is no longer a livable wage, corporations are forcing us to compete against workers halfway across the globe that will work for a buck a day and no benefits. As automation also eliminates many jobs, we are in quite the pickle. We need to end outsourcing, raise the minimum wage and tie corporate profits into salary gains or else face extinction.

Now that the DHS has their octopus tentacles into everything, controlling live music and children's magic shows even, the government is inserting themselves into all of our lives. They can even listen in on cell phones or landlines whenever they want, hack into smart TV's to watch us, and know every aspect of our lives no matter how personal or embarrassing and are using it for their own advantage. It already appears that they are just like J Edgar Hoover, using the info they acquire for the own ends. This is not American anymore but the Soviet States of the US. How do you feel about that, comrade?

DOUCHEBAG OF THE WEEK: THE AMERICAN LEGISLATIVE EXCHANGE COUNCIL (ALEC)

If you haven't heard about ALEC I am not surprised. What you don't know is that this group is actively trying to destroy the middle class and are actually succeeding at it. Let's see those runner ups.

1)Detroit- Demonstrating a lawlessness that makes Mad Max look tame in comparison, this city is truly an every man for himself scenario. It has gotten so bad there that this week, two veteran police officers were caught on tape beating the crap out of a guy while mugging him. At first, people thought that these were fake cops impersonating real ones, but no, that was sadly not the case. A 20 year and 17 year veteran were arrested for the attack. I know I don't trust cops but this is ridiculous. Chicago and Philadelphia are dangerously close to becoming the next Detroit and all of this is because politicians at all levels can no longer function as intended due to greed, bribery, incompetence and partisanship. We may be so screwed.

2)The Media- Our corporate controlled media is getting so bad that I half expect Joseph Goebbels to rise from the dead and take over Fox News. Right now, that's exactly what it seems like has already happened. Not that any other news source is that good missing dozens of stories every day that the public has a right to know. The explosion of cop violence on a civilian public is MIA. Stories about Halliburton paying a measly $200,000 fine got barely a peep. And this latest story NO ONE saw. In Eastern Oregon this week, someone torched 40 tons of GMO crops. And while I am not totally against genetic modifications of some crops as this has been in the works for decades now and proven safe, some work being done does require closer scrutiny. A lot of this seems like the idiotic anti-vaccination campaign that people like Jenny McCarthy have rallied against, even though there is no proof of said issues with vaccines. Trust me, I've looked. But in the GMO arson case, no media outlet anywhere reported this story outside of local news. Here's the weird part: evidence collected at the scene suggest dozens of people involved, maybe hundreds as each plant was individually burned. Here's where it gets weirder: Environmental groups that do this kind of sabotage ALWAYS take credit for it as that's how they get their message across. The best theory is that local formers may have laid waste to the crops after being sued by Monsanto after their crops became pollinated by rouge GMO crops, which Monsanto claimed sole rights to. That's devious. Japan became the latest country to ban all GMO wheat from the US. As the farmers are trying to counter sue, a process that may take decades, some may be taking actions into their own hands. This is yet another step over how our own government is pitting corporation against individuals and taking the side of Big Business. Shocker. And the media is helping bury stories we all should know about.

3)Juan Tavera, OC police officer- How many idiots do we have to put on the police force before someone gets killed? This latest story is how a six year veteran of the Orange County Police Force in Southern California pulled this atrocity. After a routine traffic stop, Tavera thought it would be funny to pepper spray the occupants pizza without their knowledge. Five people were rushed to the hospital, Tavera was put on paid administrative leave and is now facing jail time. I hope they fire his ass for God's sake. Try doing that to your co-workers tomorrow and see how fast you get axed. Bad cops need to go away, not put on desk duty.

4)Liberals- Proving that I am not a "libtard" for all the right wing morons out there who knee jerk that term for anyone that dares to disagree with them, here comes this gem from Seattle officials who have decided that most of the English language is racist and we should just stop speaking it. Terms like "citizen" and "brown bag" should not be used at public meetings it was suggested because they have racist undertones. WTF? How is citizen a dirty word? And brown bagging it means taking your lunch to work with you, not hitting black people or whatever imaginary racist thing they think it means. New York City went a step further when the Department of Education suggested not using words like "dinosaur," "birthday," or "Halloween." Apparently the word dinosaur would anger creationists, while birthday and Halloween would alienate Jehovah's Witnesses who don't practice such things. I am sick and tired of bending over backwards to make everyone happy. This is also why I hate censorship as once it starts, it never stops. It's also why I will NEVER stop using the word "retarded" or "gay" which have different meanings than hateful speech, as most English does. The language police needs to go away.

5)Mitch McConnel- One of the least popular people in Congress is facing an uphill battle for his re-election next year. The far right sees him as "too liberal," which is just hysterical, while the moderate base sees him as too extreme. This is very good news for the democrats because a bruising primary may tip the scales blue and let them keep control of the Senate. Mitch is trailing in some polls versus his democratic rival and that means trouble. Good.

6)Republicans- This week, the House voted for the 40th time to repeal Obamacare, killed a transportation bill and even managed to scuttle a bill they themselves had proposed due to infighting among themselves. That's good governing (roll eyes here). John Boehner is becoming increasingly unpopular even among the right as he is doing NOTHING but protecting his own job at the expense of the American people. They have no jobs plan, no plan with what to replace Obamacare that they keep fighting for and no plan to save this country short of killing the poor and feeding them to the rich. Anyone voting for these idiots is voting to kill this country. Way to go traitors.

7)The US Government- I can't decide whether this latest boogeyman is real or imagined. Supposedly, Al Qaeda is planning a massive attack at some point due to "chatter" they heard on spy sites. Here's the thing, if the terrorists know we are listening, why speak about it over an open line you know is bugged? There are all sorts of clandestine communications that the government cannot monitor, so why use one you know they can. Simple: it's bull. If I was a terrorist leader I would make all sorts of grand claims over an open line and wait for the US government to overreact, which they have. I will eat my hat if anything happens and right now we look weak and foolish, especially if nothing happens. We should never have said anything, gone on with our lives, but thanks in part to the idiotic Benghazi non-scandal, every hint at a problem is going to hit Defcon 1 now. Thanks GOP. You are literally killing this country.

8)The American Legislative Exchange Council- If you've never heard of this group it's probably because our shitty media has spent zero time exposing these right wing douchebags for the assholes they are. This right wing think tank is pushing through anti-employee rules such as eliminating sick days, "right to work" rules that benefit the company only, and other anti-labor laws that we fought so hard for, not being taken away. These douchebags have gutted unions, wages, pensions and anything else they could get their grubby little hands on. Not surprisingly, a lot of this funded by the Koch Brothers, two of the most evil men on the planet. Other idiots, like Art Pope, are singlehandedly changing policy in North Carolina due to Citizen's United, where this billionaire now controls the state Senate. We are losing this country and continuing to vote for the Republican party is a vote toward dystopia. In places like Wisconsin, Walker overrode the will of the people by eliminating sick time, which 70% of the public wanted. The sole purpose of ALEC is to destroy the middle class and the Republicans are all for it. Is this really what you want, America? So congratulations ALEC and their supporters you are indeed douchebag of the week.

THE NEWTOWN AND CHESHIRE MURDERS: HOW GUN LAWS ARE NOT TO BLAME FOR EITHER OF THE BIGGEST TRAGEDIES IN CT.

I lived in Connecticut for many years. It's a beautiful state filled with nice people, scenic parks and very little to do. It's a also a cesspool of corruption, sky high taxes (the highest in the nation), and a police force that should be avoided at all costs. Trust me, I know. And I'm a skinny white guy. Think how the black community feels.

But over the last few years since I've left, two tragedies have befallen the state. I'm not taking any credit for that, but I'd like to point out that since moving here, this area has been missed by every major storm that has pounded us lately, including a tornado that skipped over my house. A former girlfriend nicknamed me "Golden Boy," because on occasion I have tremendous luck. It never pans out into winning the lottery of anything, but I may get some money for something I wasn't expecting or have an unbeatable streak playing any game I try for a day beyond the realm of chance. Just did that recently at a party where I literally won every game we played that day. But if I went to the casino and tried, I would walk away a very poor man. I never get rich from my luck but every now and then I do manage to squeak out something cool.

Anyway, in 2007, two recently paroled douchebags decided to rape, torture and murder a family they picked at random. And in 2012, Adam Lanza, who might as well as just hung a sign from around his neck that said "I'm a pyscho," decided that shooting innocent children was the best way to get the express route down to hell. These were the two worst tragedies in CT history. And all the gun laws short of not having any, would not have made a difference in either case.

Adam Lanza is the easiest one to debunk as Lanza not only didn't buy any of the guns, his first victim, his mother, was to blame for him having access to them in the first place. And for all you Sandy Hook "truthers" out there please, go away and don't come back and take the fucking Boston Bombers truthers with you. These were not false flag attacks. They weren't CGI'd. Anyone with an ounce of common sense could see that.

But with Lanza came a mountain of new gun laws, some of which, like from that demon Dianne Feinstein, would have outlawed most guns. Here in MA a new law is being debated that contains some things I agree with like background checks and new felony statutes. It loses me with the machine gun ban, a seven round limit and the disposal of all guns that have more than ten bullets. Fuck you very much on that.

I know my audience is very liberal as I tend to lean that way on many issues. But gun control is not one of them and it might be that I have lots of friends who own guns and every single one of them is responsible with them. I know that doesn't apply to everyone, but you can't limit something because a few people abuse it. If it was rampant that would be another story, but most gun owners are fine owning weapons and the stats prove it.

Dr. William Petit I am sure thinks different. His two children, KK and Hayley, along with his wife Jen, were raped and murdered by two ex cons recently paroled. What started as a home robbery escalated to something shockingly worse. Cheshire is a small town, in Anywhere, America. It's not a crime riddled neighborhood but a small community filled with schools and middle class people. No one was expecting this. The two fuckwads who did this were Steven Hayes, 44, and Joshua Komisarjevsky, 27, ex-cons who somehow fueled each other to do this. Neither had violent records. Both were jailed previously for burglary. But this time something changed and they did unspeakable things to two underage girls and their mother. The only survivor was the father who somehow escaped after being beaten over the head repeatedly. The victims may have been burned alive (the youngest daughter definitely was) and all three were raped and photographed. Both received the death penalty but as that has been repealed in CT, they will most likely spend the rest of the time behind bars, in solitary. That almost seems worse. Good.

The point is these two losers didn't use a gun. They didn't need one. But what would have been the outcome if Petit had a gun? His family may still be alive. At least I heard he was recently married and is having a new child. That kid will be spoiled more than child ever. I wish them all the best.

We have an out of control, militarized police force that is kicking in doors and shooting innocent people every day. This should be the rule for all gun laws: whatever the police have, the public gets access to as well. Yes the military can still crush us but I fear them a whole lot less than Barney Fife with a 50 caliber machine gun.

Gun laws would not have stopped either tragedy. As a matter of fact, if guns were more available, neither of these tragedies may have played out that way. And before I hear from someone who says it would be like the Wild West I would like to point out you are eight times more likely to be shot by the cops than by a citizen with a gun. The reason is people with guns respect them a lot more than the police do. We need to arm ourselves better as the militarized police force is killing us more and more every day. And unless we have the weaponry to prevent it, we may all wind up in some ghetto being marched toward an oven.

ECONOMIC UNTRUTHS, RIGGED MARKETS AND OTHER WAYS THAT SHOW THE GOVERNMENT CONTINUES TO LIE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WITH IMPUNITY.

Here's an old joke for you. How do you know the government is lying to you? They're talking. Nothing that comes out of the just about anyone's mouth anymore is the truth and our country is falling apart as a result. That economic recovery we keep hearing about is about as real as unicorns, the Loch Ness Monster and a White Sox World Series win.

Take this gem from today. When Ed Snowden was first arrested, he told us that he could wiretap anyone if he had their IP address. The NSA laughed at that saying it was impossible. Until yesterday that is when the Guardian released documents showing the NSA has exactly that ability and a guy from the IT department could have accessed it. Not exactly the oversight I was expecting. You spy on everyone in the country BUT not yourself. Self regulation at work, ladies and gentleman. The fact remains that you blatantly lied to our faces and then had to eat crow.

Speaking of eating crow, if economic factors continue on the downward slide they appear to be headed, that may be part of our new diet. A recent poll showed only 23,000 full time jobs created last month, the rest part time and temp work. In other words, no one is hiring full time anymore, and before some idiot out there blames Obamacare, that is the scapegoat to lower costs. It's just being practiced more and more by an increasingly psychopathic corporate structure that has devalued work to a sub standard level more akin to slavery. The fact remains that the employee doesn't matter anymore. You're chattle. And every minute you continue to take it, your solidifying your position as sheep. Stand up and demand more or wait for the end to happen, because it looks like it is coming.

Let's look at how well we are actually doing. 4 out of 5 people have been or currently are poor in the US over their lifetime. That's 80%. That number is way too high and explains why the middle class is dead. The middle class takes home the lowest share of money in US history. Wages have fallen over 7% in the last 13 years. Home ownership is at it lowest point in 18 years, even though the housing market is supposedly recovering. which it isn't. 240,000 full time jobs were lost last month. The ones created are almost all low paying, no benefit jobs. 40% of all Americans make less than $20,000 a year. Try living off of that salary with a family. You can't. The most recent estimate is that there may be as many as 100 million people in the US who are out of work, part time, or in prison. That's one third of the country unemployed. And they wonder why Detroit went broke?

Inequality is killing us. It will inevitably destroy us. So for all of you out there who are Tea Party followers understand your philosophy works about as well as Communism did. Stop being part of the fucking problem and be part of the solution. We need to give more money, not less to the poor and middle class and we offset that by collecting money from the rich and corporations that have been getting a free ride for the past thirty years. Enough is enough. If you are happy getting paid in peanuts to do your job, wake up. Very soon, you won't even have that.

The reason I know this is that all bubbles burst and when this next one goes, it's going to take a lot of other things down with it. Like the value of money, the choice between anarchy and military rule, and everything else we take for granted. It's not too late to do something about it. But the first step is start demanding more from your job, your government, from yourself. We need to fix infrastructure and we need jobs too. That one solves itself, except the Republicans and especially the Tea Party fools, have decided to piss on it rather than let Obama get a win and fix something. As long as we keep voting in people who have no business being in politics nothing will get fixed. Come 2014, vote for anyone BUT the Republican candidate. They need to lose and badly. The other result is more gridlock, more problems and, quite possibly the end of this country. So if you do vote for the Right wing lunatic, understand you are literally voting to end this country. What kind of American does that make you?
