PREDICTIONS FOR THE NEW YEAR:BLEAK, BLEAK, BLEAK

Regular readers of this site will know that last year I was dead on about almost everything I predicted. I was wrong about a major terrorist attack, the stock market crashing (although it certainly hasn't been doing well this year) and the Republicans coming up with a certain winner in the next election. The rest I was perfect on which isn't too shabby, as seven out of ten things I wrote last came true including my predictions about the weather going whack and governments falling like dominoes. Let's see what the crystal ball holds for next year.

1)War with Iran/Syria- This seems like an inevitability that will start the year off with a literal bang. All signs point to some sort of confrontation especially after the Iranians overplayed their bravado by saying they would have no problem closing the Straits of Hormuz. In their own words it would be "as easy as drinking a glass of water." The world perked up at this as 60% of the world's oil goes through the passage. The disruption would be catastrophic to everyone's struggling economy and would be considered an act of war. If Iran wants the whole world to bomb them out of existence, this would be a good way to start. Not even Russia or China would come to their aid as their economic lifeblood would also be affected. Possibly one of the dumbest things ever said in the Middle East. If this does play out, nukes will be used, as they do have the capacity to shut the waterway off with their hypersonic missiles and mine the area extensively. According to a war game done in 2005, nuclear weapons would be the only to win back the area. War with Iran, and by extension Syria, could happen as soon as next week. This one is red hot.

2)Economic ruin-The death of the Euro, and the rest of the world's economy, is set to go belly up some time soon, possibly as soon as mid-January. The steps they are taking, on the backs of the poor, aren't going to sit well and, even if passed, will cause rioting in the street. Most economists feel that this is also inevitable and that a New Depression looms. As Bank of America and J.P Morgan have illegally moved derivative funds into the FDIC back, our money is no longer protected. If a bank crash happens, the derivative market will wipe out all reserves and who do you think will get paid first, you or the bank? One of the biggest scams ever and no one says boo.

3)MSM will continue to lie to us- Really a no-brainer on this one. CNN was caught doctoring an interview with Ron Paul to make it seem like he stormed out of interview when in reality the interview was over. Plus, Iowa polls are wildly uneven as some say Ron Paul should win in a blowout while others have Romney ahead. With the election results being held behind closed doors we can all guess that our new overlord and master will be Mitt Romney.

4)2012 election- Mitt Romney will be the nominee and our next president. Obama has done such a piss poor job at fixing anything in the economy while simultaneously destroying his base (unheard of ever in politics), he will be a one term president. Unless Romney screws up so bad, which is unlikely, he is much more likely to attract the independent vote you have to have to win nowadays. Obama is currently a top candidate for my upcoming douchebag of the year trophy.

5)Obama will continue to act like a deranged Republican- This one is like hitting fish in a barrel. His policies have continued the fascist slide we are seeing. He can't go soon enough.

6)Weather Goes Berserk- This year will see even stranger weather. As in MA we had a tornado, a hurricane, and earthquake and several blizzard this year, I can only guess that somehow a volcano will appear, birds will continue to fall from the sky and a tsunami will make my place beach front property.

7)Gold skyrockets- Gold will hit at least 2500 dollars this year as other precious metals also go way up as the Euro and stock market crash. Bet big on this.

8)TSA goes national- These thugs are going to be EVERYWHERE soon, groping whoever they feel like, with the power of "the law" on the their side. If it does, non violence may have to be a thing of the past because no one is grabbing my junk if I'm walking down the street. I have a feeling millions of others may be on my side.

9)FEMA camps start getting filled- KBR denied that these camps are for civilian holdings, instead calling them "staging facilities" in case of a disaster. Then please tell me why the barbed wire fences are designed for keeping people in not out, idiot? And regardless of your denials about them being stocked, you are looking for people as I've seen the want ads myself. Something big is about to happen and I have a feeling that Muslims will be the first to go. Followed closely by people like me.

10)Movies will be better than they have for the last few years- Just to leave in some sort of positive note, films look much better next year with many good movies appearing year round and not just in the months of May, June, July, and December. The Avengers, Dark Knight, James Bond, The Hobbit and Men In Black all look great with upcoming films Haywire, Contraband and Ghost Rider filling the usually quiet winter months. If people don't go see films this year in droves, Hollywood has a serious problem. Netflix and rising prices however will continue to dent the industry.

So that's my predictions. War, death and some good films. Happy New Year.
