But what about the file itself? What has been proven true? Much has been made that Fusion GPS is a "Democratic" operation, when in fact they are hired guns who have worked for whoever will pay them. Their only concern is green. So that part of collusion is already bull. The dossier also outed a Russian spy, whose name was misspelled there, and was hastily recalled to Moscow when the file blew his cover. Mueller has been in close contact with the writer, Steele, and he has given him the names of his sources, which may be why the right is trying so hard to discredit the file, Mueller and, of course, anything Hillary and Obama may have had anything to do with this. It still doesn't change the fact that nothing in this file has been disproven, just who paid for it, which matters little, unless you are an alt-right moron, of which there are far too many right now.
To further muddy up the waters, there has been a full court press on the uranium deal to Russia that Trump and his minions are exploiting to maximum effect. However, this case has already been looked at closely, including by yours truly, and while the deal itself didn't seem the wisest thing, I found no evidence of corruption. Even though Hillary and her husband both accepted money from Russian interests (how they didn't think that would look bad on the campaign trail is beyond me), there is no evidence that played any part in the deal going through. 17 other agencies had to sign off on this too and she had no power to sway them. This was about greed pure and simple, but there is simply no evidence that Hillary did anything to make this deal go through. If phone calls or emails arrive, I will change my stance but as there absolutely NO evidence for any of this, other than right wing fantasies and the work of a traitor to this country, Devin Nunes. Anyone voting for this ass in 2018 should be put down as an enemy agent. The same could be said for Debbie Wasserman Shultz, so know there are people on both sides of the aisle that no rational human should vote for. Doing so proves you are too stupid to live, because you are literally killing yourself with votes like that.
Nunes has been in fine form. After stepping down as head of House Intelligence Committee, dumbass has been sending subpoenas to Fusion GPS and others, most of which they ignored as the head of the committee, one that isn't even supposed to be doing anything with this, has no power to do so, only the full committee. They are fighting an injunction to get their bank records looked at, correctly suggesting that is an invasion of privacy. This company has broken no laws. What gives them the right to do this without due process? Plus, information has been leaking to Fox News about all of this and the only place it could be coming from is Nunes' office. This man is a fraud and a traitor. Do NOT vote for him in 2018. Fuck off if you do.
Other parts of the dossier that have been verified are meetings that took place between Russians and Trump associates like Paul Manafort and Carter Page, Manafort's ties to Ukrainian interests and even changes in GOP policy, all of which protected Russian interests. These are all FACTS, not lies and written about in the Steele dossier. None of these are untrue. So why are Republicans screaming FAKE NEWS at the top of their lungs? Probably because this file, if proven true, will sink them. If the allegations are proven more true than not, then that pee pee tape the file says exists becomes a lot more likely to BE true and that leads to all sorts of problems for Trump and the Republicans.
Their budget is already seeing signs of stress as 30 GOP representatives have suggested they might not vote for the plan as if this is what the final draft looks like, none of them will be re-elected come 2018 and effectively flip the House to the left. The language that will add four to ten thousand dollars to voters in states like CA, MA, NJ, NY and others all but guarantee a Republican rout there as no one is voting for someone who raised their taxes significantly. It is political suicide. They see that and have said they might kill the bill because. I still think it will pass as the Republicans will do the same thing they did with health care: send the bill forward and then break it later when they con't come up with a compromise. If getting rid of local and state tax deductions is still in the latest draft, it's chances of passing the House are nil. There is, right now, very little chance tax reform happens anytime soon because, in order to pay for this, someone else is going to get hit. And whoever that is, is going to make the Republicans pay down the road in votes.
Meanwhile, we are sending a third aircraft carrier to North Korea, not a good sign, as war drums beat loudly. Our economy is ready to overheat. Trump is still president as his party runs for the hills. Good news is hard to come by. Hopefully, we will get some soon, like in the form of an impeachment. Trump is circling the drain there. He just doesn't know it.
