HYPOCRISY, IDIOCY AND OTHER REASONS WHY I HATE THE REPUBLICANS MORE THAN THE DEMOCRATS

I keep getting comments on this site from people who think the Republicans and democrats are no different. When it comes to corporate greed, both sides fall short. But the Republicans are also hell bent on taking whatever they can from the poor and giving it to the rich in what would make this country a third world nation. They insist on ideas that are whole heartedly wrong, logically inconclusive or hypocritical to the nth degree.

And while some like Dianne Feinstein or Harry Reid may be the poster children for everything that is wrong about the democratic party, they also have people doing the right thing like Al Franken and Elizabeth Warren. The Republicans have absolutely no one who is standing up for the right thing even 50% of the time and that is not acceptable. Until that changes, we as a country have no choice but to back the only other party there is, no matter how misguided some of the policies may be. The alternative is to let the GOP literally destroy this country bit by bit as they are doing. A third party would be nice but as things as structured right now, that is not an option. So we can choose between a turd and a shit sandwich, but at least one comes with mustard.

We have the power to change anything if we wish but we have to get off our fat asses and fight for it. We can't just go home like OWS did or turn into raving loons wearing square hats as the Tea Party became. We need people that are literally willing to die for what they believe in. I write this column knowing full well I am exposing some people and ideas that do not want illumination. There is always that possibility that one day I will disappear and I am fine with that because standing in the shadows waiting to die seems much, much worse.

How bad are things right now? Pretty bad. The news isn't telling you things like there have been six Hindenburg Omens over that past few weeks. This means there is a 75% chance of stock market crash within the next 40 days. Mind you, the last two times the Omen showed up, nothing happened but how lucky can we continue to get? Many top economists say the chances for an economic collapse this year is around 80% and next year it is near 100%. The reason being is that we fixed nothing, literally not one problem that caused the crash of 2008. And many of the same signs seen before crashes in 2008 and 1987 are happening again. The only problem is the next crash is going to be a whole lot worse with the distinct possibility of hyperinflation, a lack of social services and even, anarchy. The other alternative is martial law and a real police state. Both options suck.

The main problem is we have multinational corporations with so much power that they are effectively controlling the government now. Welcome to Fascist America. You voted for it, especially the Republicans. Check out these facts:

The GOP and corporate media have kept telling us that Social Security is going broke and we can't afford it anymore. The main reason it is going broke is corporations pay no taxes, give slave wages which helps contribute less to taxes and make sure that idiotic cap on SS wages stays put, further endangering the fund. Lifting the cap alone would fund SS through the end of the century. Profits are at a 60 high while taxes are at a 60 year low and corporations want it even lower.

As said in previous posts, corporations are holding trillions in dollars in off shore accounts to avoid paying taxes. Try that as a private citizen and count the minutes until you go to jail. Corporations not only pay no taxes, they get money back from the treasury. Every American here should be pissed about that. We constantly hear we have the highest tax rate for companies on Earth but that is a lie. Yes the "official" rate is 35% but no multi-national corporation pays that, with the highest being 12% and the lowest being negative 8%. Wells Fargo not only didn't pay taxes last year, they got 8 billion back in tax credits. WTF? Think of what good that money could have been used for.

Bank of America illegally foreclosed on million of houses, got a slap on the wrist and then paid no taxes on $4 billion in profit. These scum bags are still throwing people out into the street illegally and no one cares. But open an abortion clinic or gay bar and the sky is falling. Priorities people.

Here's the worst part: the CEO's of these companies and billionaires like the Koch Brothers are actively convincing the stupider Americans that these are good ideas by giving them names like "tax reform" or "entitlement reform" but in reality are gutting systems in place to help the least fortunate. And some out there are arguing for it even though they are poor or middle class and will be most affected by said changes. Unbelievable.

So this is why both parties may suck, but at least the democrats for the most part are not trying to gut entitlements, although Obama should be mentioned that he IS trying to gut entitlements as he keeps going back to the awful chained CPI idea that would break this country's back. Luckily, many of the democrats in Congress do not share this idea. Republicans are all for it. And some of you out there are voting for it. Remember come 2014 that unless the Republican running is a super moderate who has ideas that will advance the country (good luck finding that), you MUST vote against them. Or wait until everything you hold dear is gone. The choice is moot. I do not support the democrats blindly and in some cases would vote against them. If for example Weiner or Filner ran against a Republican, unless the guy was Hitler 2.0, I would not be voting democrat then. But those choices are few and far between. There are good democratic candidates out there. Let's make sure they get into office next year.
