WAR DRUMS SOUND LOUDER AS SYRIAN CONFLICT SEEMS IMMINENT! IS IT TIME TO HELD FOR THE HILLS?

My track record for predicting international conflict has been far spottier than my economic predictions which comes true with alarming regularity. It is this understanding of how the economy works that makes me very worried about our near future as a major war may be the only way to stop the otherwise inevitable collapse.

Our economy is broken all the while we are being told that there is nothing to worry about. We are all going to look like Kevin Bacon in Animal House at this rate, flat as a pancake while being trampled to death by the panicked crowds. The housing market is beginning to contract again as corporate investors scale back their mass buying. July saw the housing market nose dive downward again as that is exactly what happened. Mortgages are nearing the 5% mark and that is the end of that gravy train so investors are going elsewhere instead. Expect a still weak housing market to start spiraling downward and taking the rest of the economy with it.

Treasury bonds are also rising in interest as inflation is starting to be freed from its artificial cage where lies and half truths have replaced honest economic reforms. As treasury bonds are directly related to the unstable derivative market, if this market collapses, the entire world economy goes with it. It essence, the world has built a Frankenstein monster that has escaped its chains and is now terrorizing the countryside. This will not end well either.

Don't think for a second that this has gone unnoticed by the government. My sources have told me that government bunkers are being prepared this week for high level officials in case of WW3 breaking out soon, which is scarily a real possibility. The reason isn't an economic collapse but a real war, using real weapons and perhaps, WMD's.

Syrian rebels were allegedly gassed this week by Assad as UN inspectors were nearby investigating earlier claims. Does this not strike anyone as completely insane? Assad has never struck me as mad, unlike say Kim Jung Un, whose behavior has been far more rational lately somehow. So either Assad is the dumbest person on Earth, or he was set up. I am going with door number two on that one. Whether the rebels did it as a false flag to get international help or whether Obama, the UK and France conspired to start a war to mask economic hell approaching. I am inclined to go with the former, but there is some evidence out there to support the latter as well.

The Daily Mail reported in January of 2013 that hacked emails from a defense contractor said the following:

Phil
We’ve got a new offer. It’s about Syria again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved by Washington.
We’ll have to deliver a CW to Homs, a Soviet origin g-shell from Libya similar to those that Assad should have. They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record.
Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion?
Kind regards
David

The authenticity of this email cannot be verified from my end but some experts have said it appeared legitimate. The fact that the story disappeared from the Daily Mail website recently is telling however.

We also have conflicting data regarding telephone calls intercepted by either the Israelis or the Syrian government. The Syrians say they have evidence that Syrian rebels were behind the attack. The Israelis say they have evidence Assad is behind the attack. This is from Times of Israel:

An Israeli TV report on Saturday claimed that the missiles were fired by the 155th Brigade of the 4th Armored Division of the Syrian Army, a division under the command of the Syrian president’s brother, Maher Assad.
The nerve gas shells were fired from a military base in a mountain range to the west of Damascus, the Channel 2 report said.
The embattled regime has concentrated its vast stocks of chemical weaponry in just two or three locations, the report continued, under the control of Syrian Air Force Intelligence, itself reporting to the president.
The TV report further added that “the assessment in Israel” is that the attack was intended to serve as the possible start of a wider operation.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the situation in Syria couldn’t be allowed to continue.
Netanyahu said that Israel “will always know how to protect [its] citizens” should Syrian weapons be turned on the Jewish state.

This sounds like a cover story but could also be accurate. We have no way of actually knowing who is telling the truth here. And therein lies the problem.

Either way, the UK, France and the US are all in meetings this week to discuss how to handle this crisis. Chances are very high that cruise missiles will be hitting chemical weapon sites in Damascus any day now. What will happen after that is anyone's guess? I am still betting that Russian will not get involved no matter what happens. The Iranians on the other hand are a whole other matter. Chances are good they will use proxy attacks against American and Israeli interests that could spark a larger war and a huge spike in gas prices. It is because of this spike that this war may take a much more deadly tone and spiral out of control engulfing the entire world at that point.

Syria fumbled badly by not letting UN inspectors into the area post haste to prove they weren't behind the attack. By waiting five days, and allowing all the evidence to disappear, they appear guilty whether they did it or not. This was unwise and the major reason why war may be imminent now. Obama and the EU cannot back down from a red line this bold without taking some sort of action or appear weak to terrorist regimes, making us even less safe down the road.

There are no good decisions here. Let us all hope that Obama and the other world leaders make the right ones. Our lives depend on it.
