9/11 REVISITED, THE CHICAGO TEACHER STRIKE AND MITT ROMNEY'S TAX PLAN EXPLAINED

Today is the eleventh anniversary of the horrific attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, resulting in thousands of deaths. Regular readers know that I do not believe the attacks happened the way the government said for way too many reasons. Here is a quick list of some of the most glaring errors:

NORAD claimed the planes couldn't be tracked after the terrorists turned off their transponders. This is not true as several people I know who have worked there have said they have the ability to track just about anything over the US. Russian bombers wouldn't have transponders during an attack so this explanation the US gave is bull.

Once the planes took off from Otis Air Base, the pilots took their sweet time getting anywhere with best estimates showing the planes flew at around 237 MPH, far from their top speed of 1800 MPH. As the skies were clear of all traffic, why the slow speeds to such an emergency?

Why did Dick Cheney order his forces to stand down as one plane headed toward the Pentagon, as witnessed by Sec. of Transportation, Norman Minetta?

How did the BBC know that WTC 7 was going to collapse by reporting it long before it actually did? News footage shows the building clearly in the background as the reporter is making the story about its collapse. Are people at the BBC psychic?

Why did WTC 7 fall in the first place? It was not hit by a plane and firemen at the scene, according to tapes released, say only small fires were seen. There is no credible science to explain its collapse as, even the NIST, was forced to pull its latest theory after scientists complained that the info contained was not replicable, which it wasn't. There is, as of this writing, no official explanation as to why WTC 7 fell, unless explosives are factored in.

Over 1500 acclaimed scientists and engineers have written extensively on the subject and their belief that the official story is not possible. Unlike climate change debunkers which contain almost no actual climate scientists, these deniers have highly regarded pedigrees in psychics, engineering, explosives and other key fields.

The 9/11 commission heads who ran the 9/11 investigation don't believe the official story and complained bitterly about their lack of subpoena ability and the fact the US military lied about the official time line which was referred to the Pentagon for review who, of course refused to press charges. When the people who run an investigation and even they are suspect of some of the facts, something is wrong.

This is just a few of the things wrong with this story which I still believe the Bush administration had some hand in. Most importantly, it may have been nothing more than a diversionary tactic as, the day before, Rumsfeld held a conference announcing that the Pentagon couldn't locate $2.3 trillion dollars. The next day, the biggest terrorist attack in US history. Add to that the hundreds of billions of gold that may have been whisked away from the bank vaults in the WTC, not to mention the trillions to be made with a new war and insurance, and you have one hell of a motive.

This story is filled with holes and is not some loopy conspiracy theory like the one where we didn't land on the moon or Obama's birth certificate. As with any scientific principle, if some of the pieces don't fit into the theory you have, it is not viable. The US keep shoving round pegs in square holes and telling us they fit and not to question it. The day we stop questioning it, is the day we are truly slaves.

Meanwhile, back in the present day, the teachers of Chicago have gone on strike and, as usual, the anti union forces are screaming bloody murder over how good the teachers have it. They howl at the fact they make $75,000 a year and have good benefits, even a pension, GASP. What people should be complaining about isn't what the teachers make but why the rest of us aren't making what should be the country average (they have unions, we don't). While I would agree that any raise at this point is on the greedy side but that is not the reason they are on strike. The main reason is that they want the teachers to put in longer hours for no pay and they already work an average of 58 hours per week, the longest in the nation for teachers. Plus, they want to tie standardized tests to teacher performance and air conditioning is still not available (like when I was kid) and classrooms are being shown to be in the plus one hundred degree range on occasion. That is cruel and inhuman for both the teachers and the kids and needs to be addressed. That is a safety issue.

Should the teachers be striking? Yes and no. It makes them look greedy and makes more people anti-union, something both democrats and Republicans want, as seen through the eyes of Rahm Emmanual, the democratic leader of Chicago, who is effectively union busting in the same way as Scott Walker. But this isn't just about money but trying to limit class size, which "experts" claim is not effecting children's education. That is a total lie. I have witnessed this first hand in adult classes where the dumbest slow down the pace for everyone else. As long as you have an average of 42 kids per class, everyone suffers as the dumb fall behind, the smart get bored and the average kid scrapes by. The teachers are rightfully concerned that this standardized bull we are forcing on our kids are making them memory dumps with no real understanding of the material. Critical thinking is dying and, if you don't believe me, go to any Tea Party website and see how piss poor their grasp of the simplest subject is.
obama scott van duzer
A recent photo op had Scott Van Duzer, a Florida Pizza owner, bear hugging the president in a great picture as it made Obama look approachable and relatable. Republican and Tea Party dickwads pounced giving bad yelp reviews and demonizing the guy for treating the president with the respect that he deserves. I am not a huge fan of George Bush, but if I ever meet the guy, know I will still show him the respect that he deserves as he was POTUS, freely elected or not. If I lived near Big Apple pizza know that I would stop in for a pie to show my respect for him as well.

A recent survey showed that one in six Republicans think Mitt Romney killed Osama Bin Laden. How is the possible? Romney wasn't even government at the time and makes as much sense as some out there who say Obama caused 9/11. This level of stupidity is truly frightening.

Add to this Romney's disastrous Sunday morning show appearances where he STILL won't give specifics to his tax plan. When asked repeatedly which tax breaks he will eliminate he dodged the question again. There are only three breaks that amount to anything and all are political suicide. He could eliminate mortgage deductions which would hammer the middle class. He could get rid of charitable contributions which would piss off every museum, charity and rich person with a cause in the US. Lastly, he could get rid of investment deductions which would make him a pariah on Wall Street and businesses like Bain Capital who rely on those breaks to stay profitable. So with no good break to get rid of, what do you do Romney? Raising taxes on the middle class is your only option as running up the debt further may get you lynched by your own idiots in the GOP. Romney and Ryan have no plan for the future. At least Obama has a few good ideas to get us out of the hell we have helped make for ourselves.

Everyone needs to either vote democrats come fall or get enough people together to make candidates like Gary Johnson or Jill Stein competitive. This election cannot go to the GOP lest the US fall off a fiscal cliff and the religious right telling us what we can and can't do. The makings of a fascist-religious state loom.
