SYRIA IN TROUBLE AFTER PUTIN ABOUT FACE AT G20 SUMMIT

Perhaps realizing that a nuclear war wouldn't be good for anyone, Putin told Syria to give up their chemical weapons or Russia will pull all support from the regime and allow a US led attack to occur. Ouch! Without Russian weaponry, Assad will fall as they cannot survive without them. Assad still denies any involvement with the attack and many are still suspicious of any evidence coming out of Washington as their track record for starting wars is abysmal at best. You can't lie to get us into war after war and not expect some push back. The American public has lost all trust in our government and that is a very bad thing. The worst part is that both sides of the aisle are to blame.

Obama is pushing for this war for a multitude of reasons. He backed us into a corner with that idiotic "red line" statement and is now doing damage control. If we don't strike we look weak. If we do strike we risk unleashing a much wider war. Plus the American people have had up to here with Middle East wars that go on and on and never seem to end as the powers that be refuse to do what is necessary to win, hamstrung by the idiotic Geneva Convention, or the How to Lose Any War in Ten Easy Steps Document. War is not fair or pretty and civilians will and should die in any conflict. That is how you get a people to give up, bomb them to a point they say uncle. There is a reason there was almost zero terrorist attacks after Germany and Japan gave up. The reason being is they lost and knew it. The Iraqis and Afghans never suffered and never gave up. We merely invaded and did nothing once there. Brilliant strategy if you want everyone there to hate you quick.

The rest of the world is less willing to start WW3 over Syria with the British screaming NO at the top of their lungs, just like here. John McCain is getting an earful at town hall meeting by people who want no part of this and with good reason. Like every other war, we plan on throwing a few missiles at them and going home. But things escalate and the next thing you know, troops are being called in and that "quick" war drags on for a decade.

However, with Putin siding with the rest of the world now, things look bleak for Assad. If he gets rid of his chemical weapons, a big IF, American and Russia look great and war is averted. If he doesn't, Russia turns it's back on Assad and the US gets the green light to blow them back to Mars. Either way, it's looking more and more likely that Assad's days are numbered.

This could have huge repercussions across the Middle East as if we do attack Syria and Iran and Lebanon get involved, the Russians will no longer be a threat and the chance for an all out nuclear war drops to near nil. There is still a chance that nukes nay be used to free the Straights of Hormuz should the Iranians try to blockade it, but Russia's involvement means there won't be missiles heading our way too. All in all, this good news at a time when there seems to be precious little.
