ATTACK ON SYRIA FALTERS AS AMERICA SCREAMS NO TO THEIR CONGRESSPEOPLE.

I understand why we should attack Syria. Chemical weapons are bad and shouldn't be used. We set a line in the sand which Assad allegedly crossed. We don't want to look ineffective to countries like North Korea and Iran. But these all of these reasons pale in comparison to the reasons not to. We're broke. We're sick of war in the Middle East that never ends. And most importantly, we're not sure we can trust anything the government tells us anymore. Several months age, Obama said if the American public no longer trusts the government, we are in a lot of trouble. This is the outcome of that distrust. We've been lied to for so long and so often that anything that comes out of Washington, no matter who says it, seems untrue. And that spells disaster for this country.

The Senate will pass a limited war resolution but prospects now in the House seem dim as both liberals and Tea Party followers are both against any more war and not always for drastically different ideals. Some  on the right are just doing the usual, "anything against Obama" policy, like Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan, but others are voting that way because their constituents have all said NO to them in no uncertain terms. Town hall meetings are filled with 90% against going to war and with good reason. Any action on our part may start WW3 and a lot of us are unwilling to end the world for defense of people who basically hate us anyway. As American interests are not affected by this, we need to stay out of it.

Nancy Pelosi admitted today that the House may be a tough sell. Many House Republicans will vote no just cause President Blackenstein said so. Others want to keep their seat in 2014. Either way, getting bi-partisanship over this issue seems far fetched at this minute. Current guess is that roughly 25% of the democrats will also vote no, dooming this measure. Then what?

Obama could attack unilaterally but I feel that is unlikely unless he really wants to hear impeachment talk at bellicose levels. If he does nothing, he will most likely throw the House under the bus, especially Republicans which he will denounce as un-American. Expect this to be used in upcoming political ads if the world does indeed start pressing us further. Assad is all but wiggling his naked ass on TV at us and could escalate things, knowing the world isn't watching.

The smartest thing Obama could do is to present the information to the International Criminal Court and see if they will pass judgement of war crimes upon Syria. If they did, the US could use that as justification to go in on a humanitarian scale, bypassing the UN held hostage by each of the Super powers right now. France, UK and the US side with Israel and Saudi Arabia, while China and Russia control Iran, North Korea and Syria. See a pattern? This is about global domination and upset the dominoes here and the whole world goes with it.

Right now, it looks unlikely that military action will happen any time soon, barring a shift in perception, such as another chemical attack, this one killing even more. But for now the hatred of our black president by the right may have had one unitnended good result: no war with Syria. Now if can just figure out a way to convince the right that Obama hates good jobs, we might be able to save us all.
