1)The Koch Brothers- These douchebags extraordinaries get their own separate heading for amassing a fortune so large they need to spend it one truly worthless ideas. A new town has been built from scratch in Colorado recently which has fifty buildings including a saloon, a church, a jail, a firehouse and a train station. A mansion will look down from a nearby hill on it. What is so bad about that you ask? It's a recreation of an Old West town. Won't the public like the idea of visiting it, perhaps creating a new tourist attraction? Unfortunately, it's not open to the public. EVER. This is the what the "job creators" are doing with their money; pissing it away on follies that have no bearing on helping the millions of the unemployed. This is a private playground for the super rich, where gates hold back the uninvited and guards make sure you never see it. This job nonsense is bullshit and I for one am tired of hearing about it. Fuck the Koch brothers and anyone who defends them, like that ass from the Washington Post who hated the film "The Campaign" because they dared to sully the image of his beloved billionaires. I hope they all get cancer and die. Soon.
2)The Parents Television Council (PTC), a right wing, ultra religious organization, that wants TV content to go back to the 1950's in content, found a rise of nudity on TV of over 407%. According to them, 70% of the offences takes place before 9 PM. More shockingly, full frontal nudity has increased 6300% over the last year. What channels are they watching and why have I not noticed such a blatant rise in male and female nudity on any show I have watched over the last year? Because they don't exist that's why. The so-called "nudity" they are calling on are almost exclusively pixelated images of actors almost certainly wearing flesh colored clothing. Melissa Hensen, the head of the PTC, says that bleeping out words like "fuck" or blurring image of naked women just calls more attention to to it. According to their research, when something is edited out, people use their imagination to fill in the blanks and that is unacceptable. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? So imagination is now under fire from these backward hicks determined to make everything so sanitized and safe that all creativity will be channeled through Bible studies only. If you don't like the show, don't watch. If you don't like these kinds of shows, move to Saudi Arabia or Iran on any other Muslim country where this kind of garbage is all the rage. I find it hilarious that the same people who are so anti-Muslim and the same people who want to do EXACTLY the same kinds of crap those religious wingnuts also force upon their public. This is America baby. Leave if you don't like it.
3)The US Anti-Doping Agency- With zero proof, this craptacular group of crybabies forced Lance Armstrong to give up his decades long fight trying to prove a negative over and over again. After yet another attempt to show Armstrong had used performance enhancing drugs to win his seven Tour De France medals, the famed cyclist threw up his hands and admitted defeat. Nevermind the fact that he has NEVER failed a drug test EVER, or the fact that 90% of the people accusing him were people who HAD failed drug tests and had zero credibility when it came to their accusations, the US Doping Agency was going to find him guilty regardless. Armstrong had had enough and just finally gave up fighting, an action I can completely understand. This has got to take a lot of anyone and when it becomes apparent that, for whatever reason, the group you have been fighting against for more than a decade is never going to give up, you say "enough is enough." This has cost him his medals, lots of money, and his reputation so I am not sure giving up was the smartest decision but there does come a time, innocent or not, when it's just best to move on. With the French spending hundreds of millions to discredit Armstrong for years, it is not surprising that some of that money was used to buy favor with the, now worthless, US Doping Agency. I wonder if they are mostly Republicans on the board because that would par for the course this week?
4)Frank Szabo- This ass running for sheriff (REALLY) in NH says if elected, he will use his post to arrest anyone involved with abortions in is county. In the wake of the incendiary comment from douchebag of the week Todd Akin about abortion and "legitimate rape," Szabo set off a firestorm of controversy.

5)Republican voters- Anyone voting for almost any GOP candidate is just asking to devolve the country into a smouldering pit. If you believe abortion is murder, kill yourself. If you think gay marriage is evil, kill yourself. If you're thinking about voting for Mitt Romney for President, kill yourself. Why? Because voting for the GOP is a death sentence, not just for you, but for your spouse, your kids, your neighbors, even your pets. The current Medicare plan touted by the GOP will bankrupt it in as little as five years. This is not hyperbole but fact as countless independent studies show the costs will rise exponentially to unaffordable levels almost immediately. If you are currently getting Medicare, it won't just affect under 55 year-olds. The way they will structure it ends it for everyone, so unless you like dying in the street with unaffordable health care, by all means vote Republican. If you think Obamacare is bad, the GOP plan to replace it is far, far worse. Add to that huge increases in taxes on the middle class while lowering taxes for the Koch brothers so they can build their own version of Westworld, and most will be destitute as well. There is no good reason to vote for any GOP candidate this year. If you have one, I would love to hear it and getting rid of that "damned Marxist, Socialist, Kenyan Obama" is not an answer.
6)Egypt- As predicted here, Egypt is now seeking Chinese help in acquiring nuclear weapons much as Saudi Arabia has already done. Iranian work on their nuclear program has accelerated their centrifuges as Fordo and, according to my sources withing the government, has enough material for at least one dirty bomb. If this is true, and I have no reason to doubt it's veracity, Turkey will soon follow in their quest for a nuke as well. A nuclear arms in race in this region is going to lead to a near 100% chance of an all out nuclear war in our near future, as every war game shows. I still hear from some that Iran would never use a nuke as they would be destroyed. When have religious wingnuts EVER been rational? Well what about India, Pakistan and North Korea, the peaceniks ask? They haven't used nukes yet, why would Iran? Because India and Pakistan are run by secular individuals and North Korea, while megalomaniacal and dangerous, is not suicidal. Iran, according to their faith, will go to Allah and have 72 virgins waiting for them. When death is not feared, neither is nuclear war. If Iran gets a bomb, chances are they will use it when one of the religious leaders gets a "vision" from God who tells them to get rid of Israel at any cost. And then the world ends. Is this really a chance we are willing to take?
7)The NYC police force- This week a group of crazed gunmen shot up a bunch of people in NYC this week. The odd thing about it is that the crazed gunmen were NYPD officers. Yes you read that right, cops went on a shooting spree injuring nine and killing one. The one dead was the one they were somewhat aiming for, as he had just killed his former boss and had a pulled a handgun on pursuing police. The police responded by firing wildly into a crowd of people. Nice. Worse, the gunman was only a few feet away and they still missed with ninety percent of their shots. This is a call for gun control WITH POLICE. If you really want end gun violence maybe taking away the weapons from these triggers happy morons is a good start.
8)Republicans- This has been a bad week for the GOP. Todd Akin's comments on rape will almost certainly cost them the Senate as his 11 point lead has now devolved into a nine point loss. I have to give Karl Rove credit, who accurately predicted such a downward spiral and the reason why his superPAC pulled all funding from Akin as did the GOP, for nailing it. If Akin was the only Republican to spout such nonsense that women who are "legitimately" raped can't get pregnant from the vile act, things wouldn't be so bad. However, as the statement is taken from the anti-abortionist Dr. John Wilkie, who has direct ties to both Romney and Ryan, the die is cast toward a huge downturn in support for the GOP. It also doesn't help that the RNC has adopted a similar platform of no abortion under ANY circumstances, giving the democrats a huge wedge issue on a subject that few identify with. Most people against abortion believe that allowing it in case of rape, incest or the safety of the mother is paramount, a stance the GOP is saying to hell with. This is not a way to win over new supporters and the DNC is going to run with this.
If all that wasn't bad enough, Mitt walked face first into the birther controversy with a ill advised joke about how no one asked to see his birth certificate while campaigning in Michigan. Mitt, stop trying to be funny because you aren't and jokes like this, if that is indeed what you were trying to do, just remind people about the lunatic fringe you keep trying to make happy. Obama was born in Hawaii and no evidence has surfaced to suggest otherwise, no matter how hard the Tea Party tries to make it so. These are the same assholes who heard Sarah Palin mangle Paul Revere's ride and went on Wikipedia to try to change historical facts.
Stunningly, this is still not everything the Tea Party branch has managed to screw up this week. Kevin Yoder (R-KS) decided skinny dipping in the Sea of Galillee was a great idea during a Congressional trip earlier this year, causing an uproar. Ben Quayle (R-AZ), son of one of the dumbest vice Presidents ever, somehow still got elected even though he was caught posting on the porn web site "Dirty Scottsdale," under the name "Brock Landers," a reference to the movie "Boogie Nights." Joe Walsh (not the guy from the Eagles) (R-IL) was caught not paying for child support to over a hundred thousands dollars. Think Progress reported in July that seven Tea Party freshman, Reps. Chip Cravaack (R-MN), Sean Duffy (R-WI), Bill Flores (R-TX), Cory Gardner (R-CO), Bill Johnson (R-OH), Mike Pompeo (R-KS), and Steve Womack (R-AR), collectively spent over $100,000 in taxpayer money on cars for themselves. Duffy was the worst offender as despite making a $174,000 yearly salary and getting a $24,525 vehicle courtesy of the taxpayers, he told a constituent in March that “I struggle to meet my bills right now.” Fuck him and anyone who voted for him. Michael Grimm (R-NY) spent most of his first term fighting against campaign finance violations while his top fund raiser was arrested for illegal campaign contributions, something Mitt Romney should also be facing as he has accepted money from foreign sources, a felony that, most likely will not see the light of day. Grimm also used to serve in the FBI. Shocker. Uncle Tom caricature, Allen West (R-FL), has claimed Al Queda tried to kidnap him, liberal women are making men their slaves and Joseph Goebbels would have loved the democratic party. This guy is nuts and the fact that he may still win re-election does not make me think our public school system is worth the money we have put in to it.
If this was all the nuts that would be something but it isn't. Some more famous Republican individuals have also put their feet into their mouth recently. Christine "I'm a witch" O'Donnell accused Obama of being a Marxist and that Obama's tax code is crippling us, even though Reagan had a more progressive taxes than than we have now. When asked to define Marxism, she couldn't, a common occurrence with people who throw that word around willy nilly. Rush Limbaugh has said that the incoming hurricane is an Obama conspiracy in which the NOAA somehow moved it toward the Tampa convention and that the President also caused the recent shooting in NYC. You can't make this stuff up. Rick Santorum has said recently said that the University of California has NO classes in US history which a quick look at the curriculum shows as patently false. Michelle Bachmann's campaign manager said that if we allow gay marriage soon people will be marrying the Eiffel Tower. Where does this nonsense stop?
It is telling that a hurricane, possible a major one, is bearing down on the Gulf Coast, making me think of all those times that Pat Robertson has claimed that God sent a storm to protest gay marriage, abortion or some other idiotic statement. Now we have Hurricane Issac set to disrupt the convention and take away any news from the RNC as the big story this week will be a massive hurricane heading toward New Orleans in a similar track as Katrina, and we all know how that turned out. Coverage is going to be spotty at best and the RNC will suffer for it. GOOD. Not to mention tens of millions will be without power in swing states like Florida, robbing them of any potential new support.
But all of this started with Todd Akin who has cost the GOP any chance of the Senate now and possibly even the Presidency as pro-choice rights are going to be front and center now at the DNC, which should be hurricane free. So congratulations Todd Akin, you are indeed douchebag of the week.
