LAND GRABS, PRIVATE PRISONS, RAIDS ON INNOCENT PEOPLE AND OTHER SIGNS YOU LIVE IN A OLIGARCHY

If you were paying attention this week, past all the distractions that seem to pass with greater frequency like spree shootings/stabbings, war drums with some far-off place that few seem to be able to find on a world map, and of course what ever celebrity garbage they can throw at us, some pretty important stuff took place. It was not mentioned on any newscast or reported in any major newspaper, beyond locally. But it proved that not only do you NO longer live in a free society, some of you out there are waking up to that fact and standing up for yourselves. If we could only get Generation Wuss to join in.

Let's start with this tidbit, which will appear in the academic journal Perspectives on Politics this Fall. The study definitively finds out what I have been saying for some time now: The US is no longer a democracy, but an oligarchy, which by definition is hugely corrupt and now no longer governed one wit by you or me. The rich hold all the cards and we don't even have a seat at the table.
Congratulations America, due to your inability to think for yourselves, to let yourself be walked around by people whose interests were not your own, this country is now toast. Mozle Tov.

Here's a quote from it:

“Despite the seemingly strong empirical support in previous studies for theories of majoritarian democracy, our analyses suggest that majorities of the American public actually have little influence over the policies our government adopts. Americans do enjoy many features central to democratic governance, such as regular elections, freedom of speech and association, and a widespread (if still contested) franchise. But, America's claims to being a democratic society are seriously threatened” by the findings in this, the first-ever comprehensive scientific study of the subject, which shows that there is instead “the nearly total failure of ‘median voter’ and other Majoritarian Electoral Democracy theories [of America]. When the preferences of economic elites and the stands of organized interest groups are controlled for, the preferences of the average American appear to have only a minuscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy.”

The authors go on to say their data is almost certainly under-representative of how much power the rich and corporations actually have, which is not a good thing at all. In other words, no matter how bad you think things are, they are actually much, much worse. We are now officially no better than Russia or China. Our elections are shams and the government is under complete control by the rich. Want proof?

The BLM standoff has fizzled for the moment, thanks to brave men and women who put their lives on the line for what is right. There needs to be more people like that and less of the OWS crowd that decided protesting wasn't worth their time and have retreated to snarky comments on left wing websites which did not fare well over this whole scenario. The BLM has vowed to continue, but they will wait until things die down for a round 2. I suspect, next time though, there may be even more people trying their best to stop this. This is how civil wars start and word in the military is that this kind of stuff will not fly with them. However, with private armies available, like Blackwater, US troops may get marginalized by paid for storm troopers. If that sounds out there, understand that every day, the government, and thus corporations, are getting more and more power. At some point, they are going to come down like a hammer on us, for security reasons or for the children, or some equally outlandish bullshit, then people like you and me will disappear into some black prison never to be seen again.

It's already happening right now. Private prisons are buying up politicians, like Arizona state rep John Kavanagh, who recently added $900,000 to the state budget for a private prison just cause the $45 million they are already getting wasn't enough. Arizona is one of four states, them plus VA, OK and LA, to guarantee 95-100% occupancy rates. How do guarantee filling up a prison you ask? Put people in there who don't belong. The poor, the mentally challenged and of course, drug users.

Also innocent people are going to jail more and more often. One such woman of IL, Angela Kirkland found herself in trouble when she had the audacity to shop a store that sold, wait for it, gardening supplies. The DEA saw her leave with a small bag of goods for her garden, decided it was for drugs, staked her out, found "drug" material in her garbage, and said her electrical bill was "too high" so they raided her place in full SWAT attire at 5 am only to find nothing more than a few grams of pot and no grow room. Oops. Another man got the same treatment because a "lack of drug evidence" found in his garbage was evidence of him hiding his drug grow clippings. REALLY? Yet both of these people went through the ringer for no reason and a blatant disregard for the Constitution.

In Dallas, the cops are saying filming police is a major safety hazard, as we all know that police are always on their best behavior at all times, filmed or not. Oh wait, they are cracking skulls and asking questions later. Nevermind the fact the Supreme Court ruled in 2012 that filming police is fine, these assholes know better. Tape is the only thing getting justice and the fact the boys in blue whine about it makes me want to puke. Albuquerque residents are demanding the resignation of the mayor and chief of police after the DOJ said the local police were indeed executing people, so some departments are getting a wake up call.

The long and the short of this is that our government is no longer our own, It something that has been planned from before most of us were ever born and has now come to fruition. It has it's hands in everything from the deaths of JFK, RFK, and MLK, the Gulf of Tonkin, Waco, OKC, and 9/11 to name just a few. They have all the power because we let them take it. And chances are, no matter what we do, fight, not fight, the end result is going to be very, very ugly. Most revolutions happen far too late to fight off the inevitable. I fear we have waited WAY too long to say anything. There is no right vs. left, no black vs. white anymore. It's the super rich versus the rest of us. Wake up people. The house is burning and chances are good we are all about to become super crispy.
