This is one of the stories that matters and doesn't all at the same time. It matters that privacy issues mean squat anymore even if you are head of the CIA. The ease with which the FBI read emails and tracked down Paula Broadwell should frighten any American in this increasingly surveillance oriented society. It doesn't matter that Allen and Petraeus cheated. That's none of our business. It does matter that Jill Kelley is coming across as a less than reputable liar who may have been using her "charity" as nothing more than a reason to throw lavish parties and increase her influence. The one she created with her husband for cancer victims went all into her parties, legal fees, travel and the like. It went bust in 2007. This is from the Huffington Post:
By the end of 2007, the charity had gone bankrupt, having conveniently spent exactly the same amount of money, $157,284, as it started with -- not a dollar more, according to its 990 financial form. Of that, $43,317 was billed as "Meals and Entertainment," $38,610 was assigned to "Travel," another $25,013 was spent on legal fees, and $8,822 went to "Automotive Expenses."
The Kelleys also listed smaller expenses that appear excessive for a charity operating from a private home, including $12,807 for office expenses and supplies, and $7,854 on utilities and telephones.
Jill Kelley's sister, Natalie Khawam, was listed as the only other officer of the charity.
This past April, Khawam filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, listing more than $3.6 million in liabilities, including $53,000 owed to the Internal Revenue Service and $800,000 owed to her sister and brother-in-law.
This is VERY important and should be the real reason we are even still talking about these assholes. This is what the rich do. They take your money and spend it on themselves. They have no regard for you, the law or anything resembling truth or goodness. They are the modern day French Aristocracy and they must be stopped or else this whole country will burn out of control and, at that point, these will be the first dickheads to get offed and even I don't want that. Broke is fine. Dead is something I would rather not see.
But it is getting harder and harder to see a way that this is not the inevitable conclusion for a society devoid of intelligence, reasoning or logic. Jill Kelley is not the innocent wife she claims to be and her actions all but tell us everything. She is a delusional, self centered bitch who appears to have whored herself out to any man in a uniform. No way do four star generals stick their neck our for "friends," like writing letters of support for Kelley's twin sister who was going through a bitter custody battle. The judge ultimately ruled against her calling her claims of abuse outside the realm of reality and her a delusional personality. Why would Allen and Petraeus get involved with this unless some quid pro quo was involved? Kelley was at many parties with both and even at Petraeus' house last Christmas. Are you telling me that she and one of her many suitors couldn't have snuck away for a few minutes to do some hanky panky?
The funny part of all of this is Jill Kelley did this all to herself. If she hadn't got the FBI involved, she'd still be throwing parties and sucking the dick of the latest man in uniform she wanted. But no, she threw a temper tantrum and now her family and several others are paying for it. Let this be a lesson to anyone out there. First, never call the cops, or the FBI and anyone in law enforcement unless you have NO other choice. You may be sorry. Jill Kelley certainly is. Second, if you do call the cops or the FBI, make sure you don't have a bunch of dead bodies buried in your back yard. Kelley was running a fake charity scam, was having an affair with several people at least and didn't think that all of that might come out? This is an extremely stupid woman.
This is what one senior official said about her: "Jill Kelley is a bored, rich socialite involved with every single senior commander” because she did unpaid work as a military “honorary ambassador.” Not exactly a ringing endorsement and suggests a sexual aspect to this that the MSM seems intent at only hinting at. 30,000 emails between Allen and her suggest something much more and some of the content I hear reads like phone sex. It is because of this reason that I feel the story is more interesting than it should be. Yes it involves adultery and the like but it also shows how the rich and powerful make stupid decisions and have that air of entitlement that I am so sick of.
Meanwhile, Fox News is STILL talking about Benghazi, even daring to compare it to Watergate, which is not even in the same ballpark. And guess what GOP? Exit polls taken during the election found that less than 5% of the electorate gave a rat's ass about it, and of that 5%, more than fifty percent voted for Obama anyway. That is a losing principle. The country wants compromise and some of you are still digging in your heels in what can only be described as political suicide. You got thumped in the election and still say Obama has no mandate because the House stayed in GOP hands which was only accomplished by gerrymandering during the last census and not by popular votes which you lost across the board.
Obama is holding four aces, the GOP has a pair of twos and they are still behaving like they can win the pot. Some are refusing to deal with the fiscal cliff and stalling any nominations Obama may have like Susan Rice for Secretary of State. This will backfire if they go through with it. If taxes go up for everyone because they refuse to deal, the Republicans will get ALL of the blame and stand to lose record elections in 2014 if that's the case. If they attack nominations for idiotic reasons, those same elections are also going to be in doubt. Some are saying they need to be even more conservative which will end the party for all of them as polls show the country moving back toward the center. History is filled with the wreckage of those that outreached like Joe McCarthy, Lehman Brothers and Todd Akin. The GOP could be next.
Republicans are shocked they lost because they only looked at the polls that fit their world view and ignored the rest which is not how science works. But considering most of these idiots don't believe in evolution, it's not that a big a shocker in the long run. Thousands in almost every state have signed a petition to secede from the Union which is about as likely as Angelina Jolie professing her love for me. Feel free to leave as you have said to us during the awful Bush Administration. Good luck finding anywhere to go where things are better than here though. Europe is in free fall, China and Russia have no free speech, and Africa is filled with people you seem to hate.
The real story going on that is getting less attention than it deserves is the escalating violence between Israel and Gaza. Gaza fired one rocket too many and now the Israelis are striking back. This has the potential to spin wildly out of control and should be closely monitored. There are rumors that Egypt has moved tanks to the Sinai border while they have recalled their envoy back from Israel. Rockets have been fired on Tel Aviv, both of which mark an escalation of tactics. Hamas has vowed war but are woefully outbalanced against the might of the Israeli military. Hezbollah or Tehran would have to come to help to give Hamas any chance and, so far, we have seen no such help. But that could change at any minute and would lead to a much bigger war, one in which we would be involved and possibly even Russia and China and then things get very ugly fast.
The good news is we are far from that scenario yet. The bad news is that the scenario is not out of reason and still has about a twenty percent chance of happening. However, if Egypt, Iran, or Lebanon get involved, those numbers will increase dramatically in a short period of time. This is the story we should be talking about, not bored, insane socialites or Libya. This and the fiscal cliff are the only two stories that matter right now.
